K0 1969 model

Speaking of CB750Four, there are probably many people who think of K0.
The first model which released in 1969 is still popular today.
There are some people may have changed the appearance to the K0 specification.
K0 has side covers, headlight case, front fork upper cover,

and air cleaner case that are painted in the same color as the tank.

In addition, K0 has exclusively parts such as large, angular side covers.

K0 fuel tank emblem is black with a silver border.

The change in side cover emblems color based on the body color is also a unique feature of K0.

Candy Blue Green and Candy Ruby Red have a sunny gold emblem. Candy Gold has a black emblem.

FUEL TANK MOULDING

Only K0 has also different tank molding from the other models. It is a single-color silver molding.

ABOUT FUEL TANK

K0 fuel tank had wrinkles, so it is commonly called "Wrinkle tank".

All of the painted body sets sold by Yamiya use "Wrinkle tank".

※This is a photo of 1969 Sand cast model fuel tank.

The fule tank capacity of CB750Four is 17L. However, the earliest K0 model had a capacity of 19L fuel tank.

Therefore, 19L fuel tank is very rare.

K1 1970 model

K0 was highly praised both at home and abroad. K1 was released as an improved model of K0.

K1 carries over many aspects part from K0 than any other model. Therefore, it is said that K1 gained great popularity model with K0.

Three more body colors were added to the three colors of K0, total 6 colors.

In addition, the side covers, headlight case, and light stays are painted the same color as the tank.​

AIR CLEANER CASE

It was said that the material used for the air cleaner case in the K0 had problems such as being easily deformed by heat, so the material was changed from the K1 onwards, and the color was unified to black.

As for K1 fuel tank emblem,  "Honda" is white letters with a gold trim. The black cut-out behind the letters adds depth and contrast to the design.

SIDE COVER EMBLEM 

The shape of the oil tank has been changed from K1 model,

so the side covers have been changed smaller than K0.

Along with this, the side covers emblem was also changed. 

"750Four" word emblem and a wing mark emblem were decided to use.

Incidentally, the red color wing mark emblem is only used on K1.

FUEL TANK MOULDING

The tank moulding has a black line and has been changed to a slightly thicker than K0 moulding. This tank moulding is used up to K6.

Another thing that K0 and K1 have in common is that the tank lines are gold with a black border.

K2 1972 Model

More than three years since CB750Four release, CB750 K2 has released as a more matured model.

It had minor changed such as the exhaust muffler, the seat design, and the others installed parts.

Therefore, it is said that CB750 K2 was the most popular model at that time.

Only the tank and side covers are painted, 

the tank line design has been changed to silver color on the edges of the lines.

 (Except for the silver tank.)

SIDE COVER EMBLEM

The emblem of "750Four" is the same as K1, 

but the wing emblem's color has been changed to orange.

FORK UPPER COVER・WINKER・REFLECTOR

This fork upper cover has been changed from color 

paint to chrome plated.

Additionally, modifications were made such as 

extending the mounting brackets for the turn

signals and increasing the size of the side reflectors.

K3~K6

CB750K series continued to evolve after releasing CB750 K2 model.

K3 (1973), K4 (1974), K5 (1975), and K6 (1976) these 4 models were released afterwards.

K3 and K5 were only sold for overseas, not sold in Japan.

However, Flake Sunrise Orange is popular color not only overseas but also in Japan.

 

K4 had many improvements focused on safety, and it is considered the final version.

K6 was released as the last model of CB750K.

From K3, the fuel tank design has been changed to a thick line which emphasizes the emblem more prominently.

It looks like the logo of "BAT MAN".

The frame has been changed to a design that surrounds the logo. The surface of HONDA has has an uneven pattern.

SIDE COVER EMBLEM (K3-K6)

Black outer frame was added,  and "750Four" letter has been changed to white color. The design has an increased presence.  The wing emblem's color is red the same as K2.

This fork upper cover is chrome plated the same as K2. However, the front turn signals used to be mounted together with the headlights,  but this has been changed to a method where each is mounted separately.
